How to Pick the Perfect Pillow

How to Pick the Perfect Pillow

Nov 25th 2020

We all know the importance of picking a bed that suits your needs, whether it’s memory foam, an adjustable temperature or firmness, or even all of those! Your sleep is important for your health, and we want to make sure you’re aware of all the ways you can improve this essential part of your life.

Have you ever wondered what kind of pillow suits you best? Well, we are here to help you choose the best pillow type to ensure you sleep like a baby. Here are some of the different types of pillows and what they offer:

  • Polyester

This type of stuffing consists of small, man-made curled polyester fibers. They mimic the soft and lightweight characteristics of the down fill. It is one of the most affordable and can be used either indoors or outdoors. They’re also easy to clean, but they lose their shape relatively quickly. Polyester pillows are great for people with allergies when they’re exposed to true genuine down. They also retain heat so you can sleep warm.

  • Memory Foam

Memory foam pillows are either filled with shredded memory foam or they have a solid block of memory foam shaped for comfort. Once you lay your head on one of these pillows, you’ll have a sinking feel that comforts and shapes to you. This type of pillow is great for pressure relief! It has a higher cost, compared to other kinds of pillows but it supports sleepers of all weights, styles, and types!

  • Down feather

This kind of pillow is filled with plumage from geese and ducks. They have at least 75% and no more than 25% feather fill. It has a high price point but it is exceptionally lightweight and conforms to you. It lasts longer than the average pillow so it is a great investment! However, its structure does require it to be fluffed regularly.

  • Cotton

Cotton pillows have breathable and very comfortable fillings. Soft to the touch, making it easy to mold, and naturally hypoallergenic! One of its pros is that it’s all-natural and organic, which means it’s free of any potentially harmful materials that are found in synthetic foam pillows. However, the cotton may clump together after a period of time and its filling may need to be replaced more often than other pillow types. This type may be the most comfortable for side sleepers.

Choose your pillow depending on your needs and budget! Once you find the one for you, pair it with one of our Afloat waterbeds! We guarantee your sleep will improve drastically and you might not even need to take melatonin to help you sleep faster! Buy yours today on our website.
