Top 5 Bedside Essentials for the Best Night’s Sleep

Top 5 Bedside Essentials for the Best Night’s Sleep

Jun 19th 2020

Preparing for bed requires more than a long shower and chamomile tea. Before laying down on your comfy Afloat mattress, you should think about what’s on your bedside table. Yes, you heard that right. The items on your nightstand play a huge role in determining whether you’ll get a good night’s rest. Here are some things that you should always have near you before going to sleep.

Water

Whether this is in a glass cup or a bottle, you should always have water near you before going to sleep. Think about it. How many times have you woken up at 3 a.m. feeling a little parched? You’ll either get out of bed and walk to the fridge, or you’ll just stay in bed and fall back asleep with a dry throat. It’s much easier to reach over, take a couple of sips, and just go back to some snoozing.

A Lamp

Your day probably consists of sunlight, bright office light bulbs, and blue light from your phone. Your eyes need to take a break before bed. Don’t turn on the typical bright light that you use to get dressed in the morning. Instead, invest in a low light lamp to keep on your nightstand. Make sure that you choose your light bulb wisely though. Choose something similar to a reading light.

A Good Book

You’ve heard so many people tell you to not use your phone before bed. Well, they’re right. Studies show that using electronic devices before bed can actually delay your body’s internal clock. Trust me, we know how tempting it can be to watch Netflix before bed. But if you really want to wake up feeling refreshed, keep a book near you. Read a chapter or two, and you’ll slowly start dozing off.

Silk Sleep Mask

You know that tiny bit of light that comes through your blinds in the morning? Yeah, it can be a little annoying, especially when you want to spend more time sleeping in your Afloat bed. That’s why silk sleep masks are essential. Think of them as an effective, non-chemical sleep aid.

Plants

Now this one may seem a little odd, but let’s face it - houseplants are the best roommates! In addition to being great listeners, plants purify the air around you. Purified air means that you get to sleep better. You can plant your own sleeping aid or even buy a cute succulent.

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary where you can lay back, relax, and sleep. Your bedside table should not only look cute, but should have items that help aid in a good night’s rest!
